The Cardwell Arms

Let us just say that this is what happens when you leave Chris to do the write up…not only is it late…but it’s really late!

Friday 13th February took us to Adlington for the landlords birthday party at The Cardwell Arms. Now with it being Friday 13th anyone who is superstitious could think that the gig was going to be a nightmare with issue after issue taking place…and you wouldn’t be totally wrong! We certainly had a few issues arise.

Firstly we start with Chris loading the van for the issues arising. Now the actual loading of the van was without issue…but once jumping in the van to try and start the van found the battery was flat. Jump starting didn’t want to work and then a quick call to a ‘Man That Can’ and a battery jumper pack was brought round and the van sprang to life.

JBB had Phil Dodgson on the drums with us for this gig. So a quick trip to pick up Phil and we were on our way in to the motorway.

We arrived and the venue was already full with people ready for the party to start. A quick set up and a trial of a newish speaker column system. We leaned on a good friend of the band, Mick, to assist with the soundcheck and although it was working the sound just was not the usual JBB sound that you know.

Steve, landlord, was presented with his own JBB Beanie as a birthday present from the band and it was received graciously.

All in all, although the night started off a little difficult, a great night was had.

Thank You for the Support

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to support us on Friday; you did us proud. If you took any photos or videos, we’d love to see them! Please share them with us; we’d be proud to feature them right here on our site and on our social media channels.
